Grande Cache is located high on a mountain plateau at 1280 m, 214 km (130 mi.) northwest of Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Grande Cache is the Gateway to Willmore Wilderness Park, one of Alberta's greatest mountain areas. Willmore Wilderness Park has an abundance of trails, big game, alpine flowers, and spectacular waterways. Grande Cache offers numerous outdoor adventures for visitors, including fishing, golfing, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, wildlife viewing and photographic opportunities everywhere you look.

Nordic Skiing - Pierre Gray Lakes Recreation Area
Take a 20 minute drive south on Highway 40, and you’ll find the most popular place to ski for the majority of locals. This recreational area offers something for everyone, including approximately 15 km (9.3 mi.) of tracked trails for traditional skiing and a groomed section for skating. There's also a warm-up shack, picnic tables, and a small toboggan hill for the kids.

Taste of Wilderness Tours
Interpretive nature walks, day hikes, heli-hikes and backpacking trips into the Northern Canadian Rockies are all offered from “Taste of Wilderness Tours”. Learn about natural and human history, as well as a wealth of outdoor skills, as you explore some of Alberta’s most spectacular wild places.

U BAR Trail Rides
Stretch your legs on an hourly guided horseback ride. Stables are located along the front range of the Canadian Rockies.
