The town of Leduc is located just a few minutes south of Edmonton on Highway 2, and is just southeast of the Edmonton International Airport. Leduc is home to around 16,000 residents. In February 13, 1947 oil was first discovered here and the town prospered. The city of Leduc offers numerous outdoor festivals, art shows, open-air markets and a variety of sporting activities throughout the year.

Alberta Heritage Exposition Park
The park houses a few historical buildings including the Ohrn House, the Maday Home, and the Dneister School. The park was developed and is managed by The Leduc West Antique Society, which was “formed in 1990 to collect, restore, maintain, display and demonstrate artefacts which were used by the pioneers of Alberta so that present and future generations may have an opportunity to see these artefacts at the Alberta Heritage Exposition Park.” Best Western Leduc lodging is nearby. Canadian Petroleum Discovery Centre
“The Canadian Petroleum Discovery Centre at the Leduc #1 Historical Site salutes the grit, determination and success of the Alberta oil patch.” Indoor and outdoor exhibits reflect on its history, technology and progress. Stand on the floor of a 1940’s drilling rig to touch a part of Alberta’s rich petroleum heritage.

Dr. Woods House Museum
The Leduc & District Historical Society maintains the Dr. Woods House. The goal is to collect, research and exhibit artefacts reflecting life in Leduc in the 1920's. Call 780-986-1517 for more information.
