The city of Medicine Hat is located in southeastern Alberta, approximately 300 kilometres southeast of Calgary, and 160 kilometres north of the United States border. The Trans-Canada Highway #1 and Highway #3, run directly through town. The city has over 100 parks and 85 km. of trails for visitors to explore. Medicine Hat 's historic downtown features turn of the century residential, commercial and church buildings, great boutiques, tasty eating establishments and quaint gas lighting.

The Medicine Hat Clay Industries National Historic District

The World's Tallest Teepee
It’s no ordinary teepee! Just south of the Trans-Canada Highway and overlooking the Blackfoot buffalo jump, sits the "Saamis Teepee", the world’s tallest. The giant teepee was originally designed for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary as a symbol of Canada's Aboriginal heritage. It was later moved to Medicine Hat. The teepee stands over 20 stories high.
